Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree; Masters in Math or Adult Basic Education preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years ABE classroom teaching experience – at least one complete year teaching adult immigrants
• Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of learner-centered teaching approaches and effective integrated skills activities
• Massachusetts Teacher Certification a plus
• MAPT certification is preferred but not required for this position

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver engaging classroom and laboratory instruction aligned with the Massachusetts DESE CVTE Frameworks and district curriculum.
• Teach automotive technology theory, technical skills, safety procedures, and industry best practices that prepare students for licensure, apprenticeships, and employment.
• Develop and implement lesson plans with demonstrations, direct instruction, hands-on activities, assessments, and differentiated instructional strategies.
• Create and maintain a safe, organized classroom and laboratory environment promoting student engagement, professionalism, and respect.
• Assess student learning through classroom, laboratory, and performance-based evaluations and provide timely feedback.
• Prepare students for success in the automotive technology trade through competency-based instruction aligned with industry expectations and licensure requirements.
