Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician for Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. The role supports anesthesia providers, prepares equipment, and maintains a safe perioperative setting.

Responsibilities include equipment prep, assisting with induction and airway management, and ensuring readiness of anesthesia machines. Requires BLS, a high school diploma, and 2 years preferred, with a Monday–Friday 11am–7pm schedule and 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required and knowledge of septic technique and medical terminology are essential.
• Knowledge of clinical equipment application and function is required.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, and calibrate anesthesia machines and related equipment for procedures.
• Provide technical support to anesthesiologists and CRNAs before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist anesthesia providers during induction, airway management, and related procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the anesthesia team to support patient care.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain anesthesia equipment and ensure infection prevention standards.
• Stock carts, monitor inventory, and coordinate supply orders.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff to deliver coordinated care.
• Support education and onboarding of students and new staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized surgical environment per policies.
