Job summary

Harboroaks is seeking an Admission Counselor to join our clinical team in Madison, Wisconsin. The role focuses on facilitating admissions, conducting clinical intake assessments, and coordinating utilization review to ensure appropriate care levels for patients.

The position is full-time with evening shifts (2p-10:30p or 3p-1:30p). Candidates should have a background in mental/behavioral health and a relevant social services degree, with opportunities for professional development and a strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a social services field required (if state allows).
• Master's degree in a social services field (psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, health administration, nursing) or RN preferred.
• One or more years’ experience in mental/behavioral health working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Perform benefit eligibility to ensure patient benefits are active at admission and communicate with the business office.
• Collaborate with facility medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate referrals.
• Coordinate admission and transfer from referral sources and between levels of care.
