Job summary

The Excel Center is seeking an enthusiastic Adjunct Teacher to support adult learners pursuing a high school diploma in Baltimore. Working under a Lead Teacher, you will deliver instruction, provide individualized support, and foster an inclusive classroom focused on student success.

This term-based role includes 8 weeks of instruction, two evenings per week, plus tutoring hours and orientation prior to start. Billing and employment terms depend on enrollment and grant funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the subject area being taught.
• Maryland Teaching License or certification in the subject area.
• Ability to obtain required certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom instruction using lesson plans and materials.
• Facilitate learning activities aligned with Maryland Academic Standards.
• Administer assessments and monitor student progress.
• Communicate student progress with coaches and leadership staff.
• Maintain accurate records and classroom data.
