Job summary

Dignity HCC is seeking an Activities Aide for the Evening Shift (11am-7pm) to enhance residents' daily lives through engaging, meaningful programs. You will support activities that nurture spiritual, emotional, recreational, and social well-being in a compassionate, team-oriented setting.

Responsibilities include organizing and evaluating activities, coordinating with other staff, following safety policies, and encouraging participation in games, socials, exercise groups, movies, and outings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing, implementing, evaluating, and facilitating the activity programs of this facility as directed.
• Assist in maintaining a good working rapport with staff of other departments within the facility to meet the needs of the residents.
• Assist in administering and following all department policies and procedures.
• Review department policies and procedures and follow all directives.
• Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for identifying the spiritual, social, recreational, and emotional needs of the residents as directed.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations as directed to the activities director concerning the operation of the activity department.
• Report all incidents/accidents immediately.
• Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions/equipment immediately.
• Assure that established safety regulations are followed at all times.
• Assist in encouraging residents to attend activity programs.
• Implement activity calendar by facilitating various activities such as bingo, socials, exercise groups, bowling, poetry readings, movies, etc.
• Provide assistance to residents by transporting them to, and from the activity program in the resident’s designated assistive device such as wheelchairs, broda chairs, and Geri chairs.
• Assist staff on off-site trips with residents.
• Provide residents with one to one conversation visits for sensory and social stimulation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
