Job summary

OneBlood is seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist for a full-time 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm) with potential for 4x10-hour shifts and occasional weekend/holiday rotation. The role requires handling blood components, running tests, and ensuring accurate documentation across systems.

You will perform specialized testing, ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, and guide Lab Assistants as needed. A Bachelor’s in a biological science with relevant MT experience and FL licensure are

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a biological science from an accredited college.
One year of Medical Technologist experience or equivalent.
Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license in Immunohematology or Blood Banking.

Responsibilities

Accepts, verifies and processes incoming blood and components or samples.
Performs and interprets testing procedures on donor and patient specimens and blood products.
Maintains and monitors required records and files, written or electronic.
Performs quality control, equipment maintenance and calibration as required.
Identifies and resolves potential patient care issues related to transfusion.
Provides oversight of Lab Assistants and Lab Technicians as required.
Utilizes multiple computer systems to record test results.
Monitors testing processes to identify errors and potential problems.
