Job summary

GE Aerospace in Cincinnati seeks an experienced Production Assembly Mechanic to perform complete assembly, disassembly, and modifications on engineering developmental products or aircraft gas turbine components, sub-assemblies, and accessories.

You will set up and operate balance and high‑speed test equipment to balance rotating parts and verify specifications, and you may add or remove material to achieve the desired balance.

Qualifications

• Gas turbine engine assembly experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and directions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete assembly, disassembly, and modifications to gas turbine engine components and accessories.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform the complete assembly, disassembly, and modifications to engineering developmental products or aircraft gas turbine apparatus, components, sub‑assemblies, and accessories.
• Set up and operate all types of balance and high‑speed test equipment to balance (and test) a wide variety of developmental rotating parts and components.
• Add or remove material as necessary to achieve the desired balance.
• Perform in‑process, final, and related inspection functions, including using precision checking and measuring devices.

Minimum Experience & Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of gas turbine engine assembly experience.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, procedures, and directions.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a variety of security and program clearances.
• FAA Power Plant License required for new hires or re‑hires after October 15, 2005.

Additional Job Information

• Displacement rights to Production Assembly Mechanic (E4005, R19), Heat Treat Services (E6603, R17), Multi Services (E0601, R16), Facilities Services (E0500, R13).
• This role may encounter high‑risk or hazardous operations and may include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
