Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair mechanical equipment throughout the plant. This role involves tasks such as installing tools and equipment, fabricating test facilities, and plumbing repairs.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair all facilities and mechanical equipment throughout the plant, including hoists, cranes, pumps, boilers, tanks, air, water, and fuel piping, exhaust systems, etc.
  • Install or rearrange machine tools and equipment.
  • Fabricate, build up and erect test facility and related equipment.
  • Maintain and repair all plumbing systems throughout the plant.
  • Support facility and maintenance needs through sheet metal and ductwork, and provide complicated rigging.
  • Operate a variety of machines, sheet metal tools, and hand tools, including touch‑up painting and incidental work with wood as required.
  • Install new, fix or replace locks on office furniture and toolboxes.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions. Maintain records and perform related duties.
Minimum Experience
  • 2 years facility maintenance experience such as installing or rearranging machine tools and equipment; fabricating and erecting all types of steel structures, or installing and maintaining low and high pressure piping systems.
  • Must read blueprints and pass welding tests preparatory to certification.
  • Must pass a written assessment.

This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or have been granted asylum or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
