Job description

Job Summary/Objective

The Rogers 2 Operator plays a vital role in plant operations, handling diverse responsibilities such as CIP (clean in place) for equipment and lines, startup/shutdown procedures, operating the Rogers 2 evaporator and R2 dryer, silo transfers, and HTST pasteurizers. This role involves inspections, chemical usage, effective communication, record‑keeping, and strict adherence to SOPs, HACCP guidelines, and UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies. The operator must promptly report any nonconformities and fulfill additional duties as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • CIP all process equipment, silos, and lines.
  • Perform startup and shutdown functions of process equipment.
  • Perform CIP and process connections.
  • Operate the Rogers 2 evaporator and R2 dryer.
  • Perform silo transfers and make connections for receiving skim.
  • Operate the HTST pasteurizers on the Rogers 1 evaporator.
  • Perform bag house and sifter inspections.
  • Perform evaporator and equipment inspections.
  • Identify and correctly use chemicals as related to the job.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with each plant/process as the job demands.
  • Keep accurate and legible records.
  • Adhere to all SOPs and HACCP guidelines.
  • Adhere to all UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures; report any nonconformity.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to operate equipment.
  • Experience operating evaporators, dryers, pasteurizers and food manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend verbal and written instructions & SOPs.
  • Ability to multitask, troubleshoot, and prioritize time.
Experience
  • Required: Knowledge of evaporators, dryers, pasteurizers and food manufacturing process.
  • Preferred: Food & Beverage manufacturing operator experience; dairy manufacturing experience.
Education/Certifications
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Any additional education or certifications beneficial to food manufacturing.
Work Environment & Demands
  • Sitting for limited periods of time.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Occasional bending, crouching, stooping, twisting, reaching, and grasping.
  • Manual dexterity and repetitive finger movements for keyboarding.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Some lifting, up to 55 pounds.
  • Production floor environment.
  • Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts.
