Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior Wiring Release Engineer to drive electrical system requirements, manage Tier 1 suppliers, and lead harness development for battery electric vehicles. The role demands hands-on design, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration across engineering teams.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of experience, expertise in low/high voltage systems, and proficiency with Capital and Zuken tools, CAN/LIN/Ethernet, and DFMEA processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent from ABET accredited program is preferred.
• 8+ years relevant experience.
• Hands-on / detail oriented with experience in low and high voltage systems.
• Experience with harness development tools such as Capital and Zuken.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, LVDS, and A2B protocol topology.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the electrical system for fully electric vehicles based on requirements from interconnected components.
• Lead design reviews with suppliers and internal teams for vehicle subsystems.
• Define inline connector selections, circuit definitions, and sizing.
• Maintain electrical system level DFMEA and DVP&R where applicable.
• Test, rework, and debug wiring systems on prototype and pre-production vehicles.
