Job summary

Sonic Automotive, Massey Cadillac North in Orlando, FL, is seeking an experienced General Motors EV Technician to join a high-performing dealership service team. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining EV systems, including battery diagnostics and high-voltage components.

Qualifications

Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles, including EV systems.
ASE or manufacturer certifications preferred.
Valid driver's license and legal work status.
Experience with high-voltage components is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on customer vehicles efficiently and accurately.
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
Complete work according to dealership and manufacturer standards.
Accurately document repair orders and communicate findings with service advisors.
Maintain productivity levels in a flat rate pay structure.
Stay current with evolving automotive technology, including EV systems.
Follow all safety protocols, especially when working with high-voltage EV components.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, including electrical and drivability concerns.
Experience with routine maintenance and complex repairs (brakes, suspension, engine, electrical systems).
Experience or training in electric and hybrid vehicle systems is highly preferred.
Ability to efficiently complete work in a flat-rate environment and meet productivity goals.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Basic computer skills for diagnostics and repair documentation.
