Job summary

Slate Auto LLC is seeking an experienced Operations Manager, General Assembly, to lead the production team in a high-volume automotive environment in the United States. You will drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while mentoring a diverse group of hourly and salary staff.

The role requires a strong background in automotive manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
12+ years' experience in operations management in a high-volume environment.
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
Excellent interpersonal skills interfacing with all levels of plant staff and leadership.
Strong leadership of a diverse workforce and mentoring employees.
Solid knowledge of Automotive, General Assembly, Production, Process and Maintenance.
Knowledge of continuous improvement systems and project execution.

Responsibilities

Lead General Assembly Team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
Oversee maintenance, quality, and tool/process engineering staff.
Monitor expenditures and resolve anomalies; drive cost improvements.
Lead change management and workforce engagement in the department.
Ensure compliance in audits and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, and morale.
Coordinate launch and mid-cycle actions for new programs; apply PDCA as needed.
Eliminate waste across the business and promote teamwork and problem solving.
