Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn is seeking a Functional Safety Platform Systems Engineer to support the development of next-generation Electric Vehicle platforms. This role focuses on systems engineering, requirements management, and V&V within a fast-paced automotive setting.

You will create and manage requirements in JAMA Connect, ensure traceability to architecture, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and approve requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• 1–4 years in systems engineering, requirements engineering, testing, or V&V.
• Experience with ALM/requirements tools such as JAMA Connect or DOORS.
• Understanding of requirements traceability and review workflows.
• Ability to read system architecture diagrams and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain functional and non-functional system requirements in JAMA Connect.
• Ensure requirements traceability to system architecture and design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and approve requirements.
• Create and manage test cases and procedures from approved requirements.
• Maintain full requirements-to-test traceability and support reviews.
• Review V&V results against acceptance criteria and resolve issues.
• Participate in bench, HIL, and vehicle-level testing of EV subsystems (BMS, powertrain, charging, thermal).
• Support ISO 26262 functional safety activities and safety concepts.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for design reviews and program milestones.
