Job summary

Highland Electric Fleets is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and repair electric school buses and charging stations across the region. You will perform OEM-approved testing, diagnose issues, and complete repairs on EVs and Level 2 to DC fast chargers, while documenting work in our asset management system.

Expect to travel regionally, work early hours at depots, and engage with customers to ensure 90% uptime.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years Electrician, Electric Vehicle, or Medium/Heavy duty truck Fleet repair experience.
• Experience with EV charging systems and fleet maintenance is required.
• Strong diagnostic and electrical skills, with the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Act as on-site advocate for EVs and EVSBs, striving to achieve 90% uptime.
• Represent the company at customer locations with professional conduct.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report unsafe practices or conditions.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform electric vehicle and charger repairs (e.g. steering, electrical, cooling, braking systems) and related duties.
• Maintain detailed documentation of troubleshooting and repairs in the asset management system.
• Assist in managing external support vendors to document repairs.
• Provide repair support to junior technicians.
• Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
• Undergo OEM and internal trainings.
