Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain electric, hybrid, and conventional vehicles. You will use schematics and diagnostics to resolve malfunctions, support high-voltage EV systems, and travel frequently to customer sites across multiple states.

The role includes mentoring junior technicians and coordinating with parts and service teams. The position emphasizes independent field work, safety, and customer-facing professionalism, with training center

Qualifications

• EV certification from ASE or OEM.
• At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with EV maintenance and repair.
• A minimum of 5+ years as automotive mechanic/technician.
• Master-level repair and diagnostics expertise.
• Hold at least 4 ASE certifications with willingness to obtain more within 1 year.
• Experience with hybrid or EV maintenance including high-voltage systems.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and assembly skills.
• Demonstrated high-voltage safety procedures.
• Experience replacing EV batteries and related service tasks.
• Proficient with automotive software and diagnostic tools.
• Willingness to travel 50-70% of the time.
• Ability to board a plane with short notice.
• Experience mentoring newer technicians.
• Ability to work independently and drive a maintenance program.
• Strong customer-facing demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions on EVs using schematics and diagnostic equipment and perform repairs per standards.
• Complete repair orders with focus on efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Perform high-voltage system work including EV battery replacement and related tasks.
• Coordinate with parts department to obtain necessary components.
• Document all work performed and maintain traceability.
• Road test vehicles to verify repair quality and performance.
• Stay updated with manufacturer bulletins and recalls.
• Mentor and supervise other technicians.
• Train newer technicians on EV maintenance and safety procedures.
• Maintain tools and manuals in good condition.
• Work independently in field and manage maintenance across locations.
• Interact with customers professionally to build trust.
• Travel frequently to customer sites for onsite maintenance and training.
