Job summary

Contechs is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer in Troy, MI to lead wiring and triage of electrical systems for a new US-based EV program. The role focuses on defining schematics, wiring harnesses, and modules, while collaborating across mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure reliable integration.

The candidate will bring 5+ years in automotive electrical design, proficiency with CAN/LIN/Ethernet/UDS, and strong problem-solving using 8D and Fishbone methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic/computer/software engineering (ABET accredited).
• 5+ years of automotive electrical design experience.
• Experience with LV/HV components and vehicle power systems.
• Familiarity with CAN/LIN/Ethernet and UDS diagnostics.
• Proven problem-solving using 8D, Five Whys, Fishbone.

Responsibilities

• Define 2D and schematic layouts for base vehicle and accessories.
• Create and update wiring harnesses, control modules, lighting, and components.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams for integration.
• Lead root-cause analysis with manufacturing and purchasing to resolve issues.
• Apply LEAN engineering methodologies throughout the program.
