Job summary

OpConnect is hiring a hands-on Field Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain EV charging stations across the Long Beach–San Bernardino Corridor. We seek a California-certified General Electrician with strong electrical troubleshooting skills for independent field work.

When not traveling, you’ll currently work from home as OpConnect builds a Southern California facility. Up to 85% field travel is expected, with a personal vehicle required now and a company vehicle to come later.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Knowledge of building electrical and low-voltage wiring.
• Experience using multimeters and diagnostic tools.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel until a company vehicle is provided.
• Willingness for extensive field travel, including overnight stays.
• Ability to work independently with professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain EV charging stations / EVSE.
• Diagnose electrical and electromechanical issues using meters and diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance and root-cause troubleshooting.
• Configure charger settings and troubleshoot Wi-Fi, cellular, and network connectivity.
• Troubleshoot building electrical and low-voltage wiring.
• Communicate with customers and property managers regarding repairs and status.
• Document service calls, repairs, parts used, photos, and resolutions.
• Collaborate with Field Service Lead and tech support to resolve complex issues.
