Job summary

Talentstra in San Francisco is seeking a Charger Validation Engineer to join an immediate project. You will execute verification and validation testing for charger interoperability across supplier DC charging systems and develop test cases based on interoperability and conformance standards.

You will configure and troubleshoot test equipment (Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, power supplies, electronic loads), create structured test plans, and maintain comprehensive test suites with clear documentation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in EV charging systems and validation.
• Strong understanding of EV/EVSE fundamentals and interoperability.
• Experience with DC fast charging technologies and global standards (SAE J1772, ISO 15118, IEC 61851).
• Experience analyzing CAN, PLC, and serial interfaces using tools like CANalyzer, PCAN View, Wireshark.

Responsibilities

• Execute verification and validation testing for charger interoperability across supplier DC charging systems.
• Develop and implement test cases derived from interoperability and conformance standards.
• Create structured test plans and maintain comprehensive test suites with clear documentation.
• Configure, operate, and troubleshoot test equipment (Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, power supplies, electronic loads).
• Manage test infrastructure, including hardware configurations, software versions, and test documentation.
• Investigate field issues by analyzing vehicle and charging logs (CAN, Ethernet) and drive issues to closure.
• Support integration, commissioning, and supplier validation activities with up to 50% travel.
