Job summary

Orange EV in Kansas City is seeking an Electric Assembly Technician to build and test EV chargers and charging subassemblies on the production floor. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ years of experience in electrical/electronic assembly or similar hands-on production role.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and written work instructions.
• Working proficiency with hand tools, crimpers, soldering irons, and a multimeter.
• Basic understanding of electrical concepts and safe operation around electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electric vehicle chargers and charging subassemblies per drawings and instructions.
• Build wire harnesses and cable assemblies to IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards.
• Install and torque electrical and mechanical components to specification.
• Perform in-process and final electrical testing including continuity and hipot testing.
• Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and BOMs to guide assembly.
• Safely operate hand/power tools and test equipment (crimpers, torque wrenches, multimeters, hipot testers).
• Identify quality defects and participate in root-cause corrective actions.
• Maintain build documentation and traceability per quality management system.
• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout and PPE usage on high-voltage components.
• Keep workstation clean (5S) and support continuous improvement on the line.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production leadership to resolve issues.
• Support new product introduction by building prototype or first-article units and feedback.
