Job description

Join Charge Rigs as an EV Charger Technician and play a hands‑on role in assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting cutting‑edge EV charging hardware. Based in Apopka, FL, you’ll ensure our innovative charging solutions are delivered with precision and reliability.

As an EV Charger Technician at Charge Rigs, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing our DC fast charging hardware. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure our products meet the highest performance and safety standards. This is a key position that combines technical expertise, problem‑solving, and a passion for advancing the EV industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install EV charging hardware, including OMEGA, FLEXX, GenIQ, DYNAMO, and APEX models.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on malfunctioning chargers.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and resolve technical issues during production and field deployment.
  • Test and validate hardware functionality prior to shipment or deployment.
  • Install and configure charging software platforms, including Asynio and Infineum, as required.
  • Assist in site installations, including wiring, conduit setup, and hardware mounting.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts used, and any issues encountered.
  • Provide technical support and training to certified installers and partner technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and Charge Rigs’ internal quality protocols.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a technician in electrical, mechanical, or EV‑related fields.
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent hands‑on experience considered.
  • Strong understanding of DC and AC electrical systems, including 480V three‑phase power.
  • Hands‑on experience with power tools, electrical meters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with EV charging systems or similar high‑voltage equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a field deployment environment and traveling occasionally for on‑site installations or repairs.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
