Cox Automotive - USA is hiring Battery Maintenance Technician II to assemble, inspect, and repair EV batteries across day and night shifts. You will operate under supervision, with Level I–II pay scales and potential incentives. The role requires safe handling of batteries and accurate data entry in CMMS.

The team focuses on diagnostics, refurbishment, and repurposing in a fast-paced setting, ensuring battery systems are reliable for deployment.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED and 3+ years in a related field; or 5 years in related field.
• Strong knowledge of EV batteries and use of hand/power tools.
• Basic computer skills for database entry and email communication.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair vehicle batteries.
• Use electrical test equipment to verify battery function.
• Disassemble cells, inspect defects, replace faulty parts.
• Reassemble and fuse battery components as needed.
• Fill cells with acid and check solution gravity.
• Connect chargers and monitor charging parameters.
• Perform discharge tests and necessary repairs.
• Clean and neutralize batteries.
• Maintain and repair charging systems.
• Package battery packs for shipment.
• Run basic diagnostics for reuse of batteries.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Update Alfred CMMS with maintenance data.
