Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the TRP Requirements and Controls Design team, focusing on diagnosing internal battery hardware failures to prevent thermal runaway. You will manage engineers, coach talent, and drive agile, data-informed solutions with strong safety emphasis.

Responsibilities include cross-functional collaboration, budget and resource planning, and advancing product quality through rigorous processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering to include Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics
• Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience related to embedded control systems, data analytics, related hardware, and/or safety critical system development
• Demonstrated technical background in Electrification Systems, Battery High Voltage or Thermal Runaway Propagation
• Demonstrated results in successful project execution
• Excellent multi-functional communication and leadership skills - able to get multiple teams moving in the same direction and represent the organization in high level forums
• Working knowledge of the software development and delivery process, focus on requirements and controls design
• Master of Science in Engineering and/or Master of Business Administration
• Leadership experience of teams of engineers responsible for developing embedded control systems
• Working knowledge of HV RESS systems and their failure modes
• Leadership experience in safety compliance of embedded systems
• Experience in working in an Agile development framework
• Experience in systems engineer approach for product quality
