Job summary

ASML US, LP. is seeking a Summer Intern in Mechanical Design Engineering in San Diego. You will design, build, and test EUV test systems, focusing on precision mechanics, opto-mechanics, and mechatronics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years completed.
• Strong communication skills in English, written and oral.
• Experience with 3D CAD and basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Ability to read optical and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document mechanical designs for EUV test systems from concept to testing.
• Collaborate with project lead to develop, analyze, and fabricate components/assemblies.
• Create system/subsystem specifications to meet performance requirements.
• Produce detailed CAD drawings for manufacturing."
• Analyze materials and verify design accuracy.
• Define test plans; perform testing and write reports.
• Communicate concepts and test results clearly in written and oral form.
• Calculate mechanical tolerance stack-ups affecting optical alignment.
• Analyze mechanical and thermal stability of optical assemblies using FEA.
• Contribute to alignment and assembly processes for optical instruments.
• Collaborate with Optics and Systems engineers on optical sub-assemblies.
• Coordinate with vendors on fabrication of mechanical parts, mechanisms, and optics.
• Read optical and mechanical drawings accurately.
• Document best practices in mechanical engineering.
