Job summary

OxyChem is seeking an experienced Ethylene Process Control Engineer/Specialist for our Ingleside Plant in Gregory, Texas. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing DCS/PLC systems, troubleshooting control scripts, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced ethylene production environment.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of hands-on process control experience, DeltaV expertise, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
5–10 years hands-on process control in an operating plant environment.
Ability to develop, analyze, and troubleshoot scripts and queries.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Excellent written and verbal communication; English fluency.
Ability to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders, and wear PPE including respirator.
Willingness to work weekends/holidays and respond to callouts.

Responsibilities

Maintain protection of environment and health and safety of ethylene customers and communities as the highest priority.
Troubleshoot DCS/PLC control systems and implement solutions.
Assist with configuration, installation, and maintenance of DCS/PLC systems and historians.
Monitor DCS operations, provide technical support, and drive improvement programs.
Oversee field construction, commissioning, and verification of DCS/PLC equipment.
Define spare parts and preventive maintenance for DCS components.
Provide documentation and training on DCS systems.
