Job summary

Sempra Energy in Hawaii seeks an Ethics & Investigations analyst to support the day-to-day administration of the Ethics & Compliance Helpline, oversee internal investigations, and assist with investigator training. You will gather, analyze, and transform data for reporting to key stakeholders, and assist with the maintenance of a web-based case management system.

Primary Purpose

Perform work to facilitate the company's Ethics & Investigations function including support of the day‑to‑day administration of the company's Ethics & Compliance Helpline, oversight of internal investigation processes and assistance with investigator training. Gather, analyze, and transform data required to meet reporting obligations and for use in presentations to key stakeholders. Support the maintenance and management of web‑based case management system to meet existing and future requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct case review and analyze Helpline intake reports. Analyze and determine case type in accordance with internal procedures. Identify internal party for case assignment. Notify case managers of assignments. Track progress of investigations and report to stakeholders.
  • Analyze Helpline and other data and prepare materials and create dashboards on statistics, trends, and patterns for presentations to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, enterprise‑wide committees, internal counsel, executives, and case managers. Assist with managing reporting functionality.
  • Conduct first‑level review of investigation reports to ensure accuracy and thoroughness. Provide guidance to investigators and case managers on best practices to conduct and document investigations.
  • Assist with managing web‑based case management system and work with internal users and third‑party vendor on system‑related issues and services. Update and manage investigation information in the case management system, including modifying and adding fields.
  • Assist Ethics & Investigations team with planning and execution of training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Human Resources Management, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience

5 years of experience in Ethics, Audit, Compliance, Human Resources, employment law, or related field.

Skill and Abilities
  • Fluent in speaking, writing, reading and comprehending Spanish.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and control workload.
  • Demonstrated competence in conceptual, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including developing and maintaining collaborative business relationships, providing constructive feedback, interviewing, and report writing.
  • Ability to interact proactively with management and staff at all levels of the organization in the resolution of investigation or case management issues.
  • Proven capacity to effectively communicate, promote, and uphold ethics and compliance initiatives and values, including discretion and confidentiality.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suites, PowerBI and database management.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
  • We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.
