Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Process Design Engineer to troubleshoot and develop cost-effective solutions for ethanol production facilities. You will contribute to design packages, P&ID updates, and project tracking from inception to completion.

The ideal candidate holds a BS/MS in Chemical/Mechanical/Biochemical/Petroleum Engineering with 3+ years of industrial experience and is proficient in MS Office, Adobe, and AutoCAD, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering registration or CPIP certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in process design engineering.
  • Strong computer skills: MS Office, Adobe, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot issues at operating plants and develop timely, cost-effective solutions.
  • Create design packages with equipment specs and P&ID updates; reflect changes.
  • Assist in managing projects to completion, tracking project time.
  • Develop material and energy balances for processes with input from senior engineers.
  • Design, plan layout, and assist customers with ethanol process equipment.
  • Analyze procedures and equipment to reduce processing time and cost.
  • Design and plan measurement and control systems for ethanol plants from data.
  • Lead activities of workers operating equipment to achieve required changes.
  • Perform tests and measurements to determine control over variables like temperature and pressure.
