Job summary

Valero invites interns to work with the Engineering Manager on technical support for our ethanol plant. You will help design, modify, and operate process equipment while contributing to project teams from concept through execution.

Role requires ongoing study in chemical/ mechanical/ biosystems engineering, 60 credits, and graduation after 2027. This internship offers 20–25 hrs/wk in-school and 40 hrs/wk in summer, at Linden, IN.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Biosystems Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 60 credit hours completed by internship start date.
• Graduation date on or after December 2027 is required.
• Must be able to work 20–25 hours per week during academic terms and 40 hours in summer.
• Live within commuting distance to Linden, IN; background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the Engineering Manager for the ethanol plant.
• Assist with design, modification and operation of process equipment.
• Develop and justify cost estimates and project documents for approvals.
• Create technical specifications to procure equipment and services.
• Support OSHA Process Safety Management compliance and related docs.
