Job summary

CHS Inc. is seeking an Engineer Intern for our ethanol facility in Rochelle, IL. This paid internship offers hands-on technical support to help achieve equipment reliability while meeting safety, environmental, and economic guidelines.

You will work with Process Engineers to design and install improvements, analyze data, and contribute to maintenance planning. You’ll gain practical skills, connect with mentors and leaders, and see how CHS integrates diverse businesses to empower agriculture.

Qualifications

• Currently a Junior or Senior enrolled in a Mechanical, Agriculture, Electrical, Chemical, or Bio-Chemical engineering program at an ABET accredited four-year college/university.
• Detail oriented with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and assistance to ethanol facility to achieve equipment reliability and performance while meeting company safety, environment, and economic guidelines.
• May participate in a variety of different activities including mechanical equipment design, inspection data analysis, fitness for service evaluations, equipment repair plan development, materials selection, root cause failure analysis, and troubleshoot equipment performance and develop recommendations for maintenance.
• Work with Process Engineers to design and install new projects and other plant improvements.
• Recognize and report and/or suggest recommendations regarding safety, health and environmental issues that impact operations and personnel.
• Projects may include equipment design, preparation of specifications, equipment integrity evaluations, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques in particular areas of assignments.
