Job summary

State Street seeks a Sector Research Strategist to join the Sector ETF Strategy & Research team and develop deep expertise in assigned equity sectors. You will conduct fundamental and quantitative research, build models and dashboards in Excel, and communicate insights to investment, product, and distribution teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in investment research, asset management, ETF research, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics, statistics or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• CFA or CAIA designation, or progress toward either designation, is preferred.
• Experience using Bloomberg and/or FactSet is preferred.
• Working knowledge of equity markets, portfolio construction, and derivatives or options-based strategies.
• Experience conducting fundamental or quantitative investment research and presenting findings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fundamental and quantitative research on assigned equity sectors, building expertise in key industries and variables shaping sector performance.
• Monitor markets, macro developments, sector fundamentals, ETF flows, investor positioning, and competitive ETF landscape to identify trends and implications.
• Build, maintain, and improve research models, dashboards, and analytical workflows using Excel, AI tools, and other technologies.
• Develop research, market commentary, presentations, and educational materials to communicate sector insights clearly.
• Explain sector ETF concepts to internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Distribution, and Investment teams on ETF positioning and opportunities.
• Own projects and recurring deliverables, balance priorities, and meet deadlines with accuracy.
