The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 is seeking Special Education Teachers for the Extended School Year across various programs. SouthWest Metro serves students in 11 member districts and 8 associate member districts in the southwestern Twin Cities area, offering programs in Special Education, Career and Technical Education, Care & Treatment, Adult Education, and Alternative Education. Pay & Benefits

The pay range is $32.48-$67.02 per hour. Current teachers will be paid their hourly rate as per the Teacher contract. Benefits include TRA (Pension Plan).

Job Summary

Provide direct support to students to enhance their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the guidance of teachers.

Qualifications

• Preferred: EBD, DCD, ASD, or ABS license (Open to Tier 2 License candidates).
• Experience with diverse instructional strategies and differentiated instruction.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and Restrictive Procedures, provided by the District.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
