Dates: 7/8/25-7/31/25
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Time: 8:45 am - 12:15 pm

*All ESY Teachers required to attend a mandatory preparation meeting on June 25, 2025, from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm.

License Required:

Minnesota K-12 Special Education License (ABS/LD/EBD/ASD/DD)

Compensation:

Current contracted Minnetonka Teachers receive their contracted hourly pay rate.
External hires receive the Summer Pay Rate per the Teacher CBA.

This position is not eligible for medical or dental benefits.

Job Duties and Requirements:
  1. Develop and provide programming based on Individual Educational Plan.
  2. Responsible for case management of special education students.
  3. Complete required Due Process procedures within mandated time frames.
  4. Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
  5. Develop Individual Educational Plan (IEP/IFSP/IIIP) based on assessment data and student needs.
  6. Communicate regularly with parents outside normal ESY school hours.
  7. Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors.
  8. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate in a fast-paced environment interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community with multiple requests and concerns.
  2. Support and communicate with other administrators and staff.
  3. Respond in emergency situations.
  4. Know, interpret, and follow school district policies.
  5. Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Demonstrated knowledge of behavior management strategies.
  2. Positive communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
  3. Ability to apply skills in performing daily routines.
  4. Proficiency in operating computers, software, and necessary technology.
  5. Ability to develop effective relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
  6. Maintain professional composure in various situations.
  7. Show initiative and work independently.
