Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects from bid through handoff. You will develop accurate estimates for facilities, perform takeoffs, evaluate constructability, and coordinate with operations and project management to set projects up for successful execution.

You will contribute by evaluating scope, risk, and cost, and by partnering with teams to identify cost-saving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field is preferred.
• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.
