Job summary

RK is seeking an Estimator - Water to join our Denver team and lead cost estimating for industrial and commercial water-related projects. You will review plans, identify risks, and coordinate with vendors to prepare competitive bids.

You'll develop and apply estimating methodologies, perform takeoffs, and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements. This role emphasizes collaboration with Sales, Preconstruction, and Operations to shape winning proposals and drive project success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant estimating experience on industrial or commercial mechanical projects.
• Knowledge of pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Ability to provide direction for complex or high-value estimates.
• Comfortable representing the estimating function in high-level internal and external discussions.
• College/University graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.

Responsibilities

• Review project documents, including proposed plans, specifications, addenda, and related documents.
• Identify scope of work, project requirements, constraints, and potential risks.
• Identify scope gaps, clarifications, exclusions, and inconsistencies in proposal documents.
• Perform material, labor, and equipment takeoffs with accuracy and consistency.
• Obtain quotes and coordinate/quality scope with vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist with preparing bid packages, proposals, and supporting documentation.
• Validate compliance with codes, regulations, and client requirements.
• Evaluate all estimate components for accuracy and completeness before submission.
• Develop new estimating methodologies, pricing strategies, and benchmarking tools to improve accuracy and competitiveness.

As an Estimator, you'll combine technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration to develop competitive, accurate estimates that help secure new work and set projects up for successful execution.
