McGuire and Hester is a construction company that provides complete site work services: pipelines, grading paving, concrete, landscape and mechanical. In addition to traditional project delivery methods, we are involved with design build projects and alternative delivery methods. Job Summary
An Estimator prepares cost estimates for all materials, labor, and miscellaneous costs and fees to put together project bids.
Reports to
Division Manager of Underground Utilities
Key Communication Partners
Takeoff Manager, Area Managers, Operation Managers, Estimating Administrator, Project Engineers – Estimating, Takeoff Engineers, and Project Managers.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Education and Experience: undergraduate degree in civil engineering or construction management and five or more years of project manager or estimating experience with emphasis in the discipline of work assigned is preferred. In the absence of a four-year degree, the equivalent in education and experience is required.
Language Skills: must be able to read and write in English; bilingual in Spanish helpful but not required.
Mathematical Skills: basic business math and the ability to create and understand budgets; geometry, algebra, and physics necessary for calculating volume, area, and tonnage.
Planning and Organizing: this position requires self-motivation, strong planning, organizing, and time management skills, and the ability to create and follow a schedule and manage multiple variables.
Computer Skills: must be fluent in Microsoft Office Suite. Individuals in this position will also need to be able to learn to use new technologies as they evolve or are implemented.
Interpersonal Skills: the ability to interface and collaborate with a wide variety of people including clients, employees, managers, agencies, and the public; strong leadership skills.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registration: valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Compensation:
$140,000 - $155,000, based on skills, experience, knowledge, and location.
