Job summary

GPAC is seeking a Structural Steel Erection Estimator with a minimum of 3 years of estimating experience to join our team in the United States. The ideal candidate will understand structural steel erection, project plans, labor needs, subcontractor pricing, and field installation.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, preparing detailed estimates, managing bids, soliciting quotes, and performing quantity takeoffs using estimating tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in structural steel erection.
• Ability to read/interpret structural drawings, architectural plans, and project specs.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Familiarity with crane, rigging, and field erection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specs to understand scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates for labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other costs.
• Develop bids with complete cost elements and accurate representations.
• Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and material breakdowns with estimating tools.
• Analyze bid data to inform cost forecasts and pricing strategies.
• Present estimates and proposals to management and stakeholders.
• Build relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients for competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with project management to transition from estimating to execution.
• Assist in improving estimating templates, tools, and processes.
