Job summary

MacKay Contracting, a heavy civil and mining contractor established in 1986, seeks an Estimator/Project Manager to pursue, win, and execute projects across the Western United States. You will influence which work is pursued, estimate and plan bids, and guide projects from pursuit through mobilization.

You’ll work close to opportunities, clients and sites, balancing estimating rigor with field execution to deliver value. Strong relationships and market insight will shape winning strategies.

Qualifications

• Understanding heavy civil construction and how projects get built.
• Experience estimating and managing projects from pursuit through execution.
• Ability to build relationships with owners, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Wamiliar with moving between office estimation and field execution; comfortable site visits.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate heavy civil, mining, and infrastructure opportunities in the Western U.S.
• Develop estimates, quantity takeoffs, pricing, schedules and bid strategies in collaboration with operations and field leadership.
• Build relationships with owners, engineers, general contractors, suppliers and subcontractors across the region.
• Manage cost, schedule, contracts, changes, subcontractors and client communication on awarded projects.
• Support shaping future work by strengthening subcontractor networks and market knowledge.
