Job summary

MacKay Contracting is seeking an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to pursue, win and execute heavy civil and mining work across the Western United States. You’ll influence which opportunities we pursue and how we approach them, with a role that blends estimating, bidding and on-site execution.

Travel to project sites and client meetings will be required as needed. This is a hands-on position, closely connected to senior leadership, estimating, operations and field teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy civil construction and estimating.
• Ability to identify opportunities and develop bid strategies.
• Strong relationships with owners, engineers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Find and evaluate heavy civil, mining and infrastructure opportunities across the Western U.S.
• Develop estimates, quantities, pricing, schedules and bid strategies with operations and field leadership.
• Build relationships with owners, engineers, GCs, suppliers and subs in the region.
• Manage projects from pursuit through mobilization and execution after award.
• Balance cost, schedule, contracts and client communication to align with the estimate.
