Job summary

Ochs Site Services in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking an Estimator / Project Manager to join our on-site team. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for concrete, asphalt, and masonry projects, review plans, specs, and site conditions, and develop project scopes.

Role Description

The Estimator / Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for concrete, asphalt, and masonry projects, including reviewing plans, specifications, and site conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing project scopes, creating budgets, and producing accurate proposals for clients. The role oversees project schedules, coordinates with contractors and vendors, and monitors progress to ensure work is completed on time and within budget. The Estimator / Project Manager also communicates regularly with clients, provides updates, manages change orders, and supports quality control and compliance with safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Construction Estimating and Project Estimation skills, including experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and site assessments.


• Candidates should possess Cost Management and Budgeting skills to develop accurate project budgets, track expenses, and support financial decision-making.


• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for collaborating with clients, contractors, and internal teams, and for producing clear written documentation.


• Experience in construction, civil engineering, or related fields, with familiarity in concrete, asphalt, and masonry work.


• Proficiency with estimating software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).


• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


• Ability to work on-site, conduct field visits, and coordinate with crews and inspectors as needed.


• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
