Allen Supply, LLC, a Saginaw-area door and hardware distributor, is seeking a hands-on Project Manager / Estimator to read plans, build bids, and own the project from award through closeout for hollow metal and wood doors, frames, and hardware.

You will develop estimates including materials, freight, labor, and lead times, coordinate with vendors, manage submittals, and serve as the primary client contact across the Great Lakes Bay Region, aiming for on-time deliveries and solid margins.

Formación

• 5+ years of estimating and/or project management in construction or related trades.
• Ability to read construction drawings and perform accurate takeoffs.
• Degree or equivalent experience in CM/engineering/business or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Own turnover from estimate to awarded project: review contracts and set up the job.
• Prepare and track submittals, hardware schedules, door/frame shop drawings, and product data through approval.
• Order materials, coordinate with vendors on lead times, and schedule deliveries.
• Serve as the customer's primary contact; attend project meetings and visit jobsites as needed.
• Manage change orders, RFIs, and backorders, and communicate cost or schedule impacts promptly.
• Close out projects: final deliveries, punch items, warranty documents, and final billing.

Project Manager / Estimator — Allen Supply, LLC

Location: Remote (targeting Southwest and Southeast Michigan construction areas) | Reports to: Operations Manager | Travel: Regional jobsite and customer visits, mostly within the Great Lakes Bay Region

Allen Supply is a distributor of construction materials specializing in hollow metal doors, wood doors, frames, and door hardware (CSI Division 8). We serve contractors, builders, and building owners from three locations in Saginaw, MI; We're looking for a hands-on Project Manager / Estimator to win and deliver door, frame, and hardware projects out of our Saginaw branch. You'll read the plans, build the bid, and then own the job from award through closeout: submittals, ordering, deliveries, change orders, and final billing. This role suits someone who knows Division 08, likes running their own projects, and wants to see the results on the jobsite and in the margin.

Build estimates covering material, freight, labor (where applicable), lead times, and margin; Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and value-engineering alternatives, and document clarifications clearly in each proposal.

• Build relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and owners in the Saginaw market

Project Management & Delivery

• Own the turnover from estimate to awarded project: review contracts and purchase orders, confirm scope, and set up the job
• Prepare and track submittals, hardware schedules, door and frame shop drawings, and product data through approval
• Order materials, coordinate with vendors on lead times, and schedule deliveries to match the jobsite schedule
• Serve as the customer's primary contact; attend project meetings and visit jobsites as needed
• Manage change orders, RFIs, and backorders, and communicate cost or schedule impacts promptly
• Close out projects: final deliveries, punch items, warranty documents, and final billing

Job Cost & Billing

Work with branch sales, purchasing, and warehouse staff to keep projects and inventory aligned.

• Track job costs against the estimate and flag margin risks early
• Support progress billing and pay applications, and work with accounting on collections and retainage
• Help improve estimating templates, pricing tools, and project processes as the company grows

Awarded projects delivered at or above bid margin

• On-time deliveries with few backorder surprises on site
• Strong working relationships with key general contractors in the Saginaw market

Requirements

5+ years of estimating and/or project management experience in construction, building products supply, or a related trade. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and perform accurate takeoffs.

• Product knowledge in hollow metal and wood doors, frames, and door hardware (Divisions 08 and 10); Experience with Pro-Tech and related door and hardware bid software; Strong math and Excel skills
• Familiarity with commercial contracts, submittal processes, AIA pay applications, and retainage
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Existing relationships with contractors in the Saginaw / Bay City / Midland area a plus
• People who own their projects from takeoff to final invoice
• Clear communicators who earn trust with contractors, vendors, and our warehouse team
