Job summary

Primoris Energy Services — a Primoris Energy Services division — seeks an Estimator for our Civil Group in Mulberry, FL to build accurate cost estimates for energy construction projects. You will analyze blueprints, specs, and proposals to determine time, cost, materials, and labor requirements.

You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and suppliers, evaluate bids, and identify cost risks while maintaining up-to-date databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within energy/oil & gas.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W Estimate) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Knowledge of construction practices, regulations, and safety standards.
• Experience with energy infrastructure projects (pipelines, gas compression, power generation) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for energy construction projects (pipelines, facilities, infrastructure).
• Analyze blueprints, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to understand project requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiate terms.
• Identify risks and opportunities related to project costs.
• Maintain cost databases and historical project data.
• Participate in proposal development and client presentations as needed.
• Communicate estimate details and assumptions to internal/external teams.
• Stay informed of industry trends, material costs, and methods.
