Job summary

Suffolk is seeking an Estimator to coordinate project budgeting, takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, and bid packages for hard bids, design-build, and value engineering. You will review historical cost data, track bids, and support preconstruction activities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the scope of work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field.
• 3–6 years of estimating experience or equivalent.
• Quantity surveys, take-off skills, computer skills.
• Proficient with Excel and word processing programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate unit cost pricing and quantify materials and labor.
• Solicit prices from suppliers and obtain labor rates.
• Prepare subcontractor bid packages and bid invitations.
• Review bids and communicate findings with Senior/Chief Estimator.
• Attend site visits and manage preconstruction documents.
• Support post-bid activities and turnover packages.
• Maintain bid records and prequalification processes.
