Job summary

Keeley Construction in Phoenix, AZ, is looking to hire an Estimator for our Paving Group. You will help develop cost estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, and review subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering and at least two years of relevant experience, along with proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus a minimum of two years of experience performing primary responsibilities listed above.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel and Word is required. Bluebeam experience preferred.
• Experience in construction plan reading and sourcing vendors for price requests.
• Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing cost estimates for small projects or defined scopes within larger projects.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost calculations using estimating software.
• Gather and analyze historical cost data to support estimate development.
• Compare subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accurate scope coverage and competitive pricing.
• Assist in identifying and quantifying risks, opportunities, and key factors that impact project costs.
• Learn and apply company estimating processes, including the use of estimating software tools such as On-Screen Takeoff, Agtek, or HCSS HeavyBid.
• Support the standardization of estimating methodologies by documenting best practices.
• Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to gain a fundamental understanding of construction requirements.
