Job summary

Lamsco West, Inc. in Santa Clarita, CA seeks an Estimator to plan and estimate manufacturing operations, based on material costs and internal processes to meet customer requirements.

You will develop part cost estimates, review drawings, obtain material pricing, and prepare comprehensive cost analyses while working within an MRP framework. Aerospace knowledge is a plus; strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing estimating and/or planning experience with manufacturing operations is preferred.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills: read, comprehend and work from written and verbal instructions.
• High school diploma or GED; prefer minimum two years technical school certificate.
• Good mathematical skills and working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; interpret graphs and charts.
• Detail oriented; able to multi-task and organize work efficiently.
• Aerospace knowledge is a major plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates on individual parts and update MRP system.
• Review customer drawings to understand scope of work to bid.
• Estimate costs using knowledge of machines, engineering, math, and materials.
• Review cost components and plan improvements.
• Obtain pricing for materials and bids from subcontractors/outside vendors.
• Prepare cost analyses summarizing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
