Job summary

CDM Service Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator - Interior Specialty Construction in Omaha, NE. The role focuses on preparing accurate estimates for interior trades such as drywall, metal framing, ceilings, and EIFS.

You will collaborate with operations, project teams, and vendors to develop competitive bids and ensure constructability. The centralized estimating department supports multiple subsidiaries nationwide from the Omaha office.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of estimating experience in commercial specialty construction.
• Experience with interior specialty contractor projects (drywall, metal framing, ceilings, plaster, EIFS, wall systems).
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and estimating software such as BuzzBid, QuickBid, OST, or comparable platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, contracts and schedules.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and complete estimates for commercial construction projects.

• Perform quantity takeoffs using BuzzBid.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Collaborate with operations, project management, and field leadership to validate assumptions and constructability.
• Develop pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and company objectives.
• Prepare proposals, bid packages, and preconstruction documentation.
• Review contract language and identify potential risks.
• Assist with change order pricing, budgeting, and cost analysis.
• Oversee follow-ups and maintain professional customer communications.
• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, owners, vendors, and industry partners.
• Monitor market trends and material pricing.

Overview:

Join CDM'sOmaha-basedCentralized Estimating Department (CED), a team of estimating professionals supportingour portfolio ofspecialty constructionsubcontractingbusinesses across the United States. We are seeking an experienced estimator with a background in interior specialty construction, including drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, EIFS, plaster, wall systems, and related trades. In this role,you'llcollaborate with operations leaders, project teams, suppliers, and customers to developaccurateestimateshelpingsecure profitable commercial construction projects across our portfolio of companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepareaccurateand complete estimates for commercial construction projects.

• Review plans, specifications ,addenda,s chedules, and contract documents todetermineproject scope and requirements.

• Perform quantity takeoffs usingBuzzBid.

• Solicit, evaluate,andcompare vendor and subcontractor quotations.

• Collaborate with operations, project management, and field leadership tovalidateproject assumptions, labor strategies, and constructability considerations.

• Oversee follow-upsandconductall customer and prospective business correspondence with professionalism.

• Build andmaintainstrong relationships with general contractors, owners, vendors, and industry partners.

• Monitor market trends, material pricing, labor conditions, and competitive activity.

• Support multiple operating companies and project types as part of the Centralized Estimating Department.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and estimating best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• At least3 years of estimating experienceincommercialspecialtyconstruction.

• Experience with an interior specialty contractor or commercial subcontractor specializing in drywall, metal framing, ceilings, plaster, EIFS, wall systems, or related scopes.

• Proficiencywith Bluebeam and estimating software such asBuzzBid,QuickBid, OST, or comparable platforms.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Proven experiencewith,andproficiencyin Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting large-scale commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, hospitality, mission-critical, or advanced technology projects.

• Experience with ERP such as Penta or similarly situated platforms, i.e. Plexxis, Viewpoint, Sage.

• Experienceutilizingunit-cost databases and production-based estimating methods.

• Associate'sorBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, ora relatedfield.
