Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an entry-level Estimator for the Advanced Facilities Group in Kansas City, MO. The role focuses on quantity surveying, reading specs, and supporting pricing with vendors and subcontractors. You’ll gain field exposure and develop estimating skills on large industrial projects.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in CM/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience, and are ready to learn Lean methods and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred).
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• Entry-level construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs quantity survey of materials shown on project plans.
• Reads and outlines project specifications.
• Maintains an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate.
• Supports vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination.
• Supports the distribution of plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors.
• Works collaboratively and creates relationships with stakeholders such as project team members, subcontractors, vendors and clients.
• Gains self-perform estimating experience.
• Gains field operational exposure through onsite project support.
