Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates, and detailed estimates for small to medium-size projects. You will analyze drawings, perform material take-offs, and price units while coordinating with subcontractors and vendors.

The role requires 3+ years in mechanical construction estimating, strong cost data interpretation, and solid skills in Excel, Word, and estimating software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or trade school or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical construction estimating.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid analytical skills.
• Solid ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
• Solid ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.
• Solid knowledge of construction costs and principles.
• Solid ability to perform mathematical calculations and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and prorations to practical situations.
• Solid drafting skills.
• Solid Excel and Word skills.
• Solid knowledge of Quick Pen Auto Bid Mechanical and Sheet Metal Estimating software.

Responsibilities

Pay:

Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Washington this ranges from $102,712.00 - $125,537.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
