Job Description

Ryan Companies is hiring 2 Estimator II professionals! This role provides estimating management and support during the preconstruction process. This position focuses on the creation and analysis of detailed cost information. This role can either work onsite 4 days a week in Minneapolis, Chicago, or Austin office.

Responsibilities
  • Work with project managers to develop conceptual and detailed estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs of all construction systems.
  • Create project estimates individually and with a team.
  • Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgeting and bid proposals.
  • Scope and select subcontractors based on best value and project requirements.
  • Record final estimates and maintain cost history.
  • Support the development, architectural, and construction team with preconstruction expertise including value design, costs, project schedule, procurement, and project pursuits.
  • Train Cost Engineers and Project Management staff.
  • Review and provide feedback on project estimates created by the project managers, providing direction for understanding project scope, market pricing, and available resources.
  • Assist clients and developers with conceptual budgets of types, capable of cost modeling using Uniformat II system costs.
Qualifications
  • 4 engineering, architectural or management degree required, or experience in relevant field.
  • 6+ years commercial construction experience.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and able to read and understand project plans.
  • Proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures.
  • Perform thoughtful and accurate quantity take-offs, summarizing data meaningfully.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of OST, Bluebeam, VICO, Navisworks, and Revit is a plus.
  • Knowledge of design-build, CM at Risk, and best-value processes.
  • Able to teach skills and knowledge to others.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, building types, and procurement methods.
  • Able to listen, prioritize, and value the opinions of others.
Compensation

The annual salary is $99,000 - 120,000 per year. The base salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
