Job summary

HDR is seeking an Estimator I to join our Building Engineering Services team. You will develop and present scope and cost data for construction and project estimates, collaborating with design and construction staff to ensure accurate, timely estimates for diverse projects.

With a bachelor’s degree and knowledge of EPC methods, you’ll contribute to bids across data centers, industrial, healthcare, and labs, while thriving in HDR’s employee-owned culture and commitment to innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Science Engineering.
• Fundamental knowledge of General Contracting, EPC construction methods, and industry practices.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, cost estimating and project control software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is a must.
• Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, compile, and present scope and cost data for construction and project estimates.
• Work on estimates that may be order of magnitude for planning, evaluation, or proposal purposes.
• Demonstrate ability to interpret construction plans and specs for cost estimation.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of estimates within defined parameters.
• Coordinate with design and construction staff to obtain estimate scope and schedule data.
