Viracon is seeking an Estimator to join our team in Minnesota. You’ll manage bid requests, quote projects, and collaborate with customers to resolve pricing and specification questions.

The role requires a four-year degree (preferred), 3–8 years estimating experience, and proficiency with Viper, Word and Excel. Occasional travel, strong attention to detail, and clear communication across departments are essential.

Qualifications

• A four-year degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-8 years of experience as an Estimator I preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
• Fully knowledgeable of Viracon’s systems and processes.
• Fully knowledgeable of the estimating role.
• Excellent detail and self-organizational skills.

• Ability to identify solutions for difficult customer situations with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage a sales territory within a specific regional group.
• Provide direct customer contact throughout the bidding process.
• Process and manage a high volume of bid requests.
• Assist sales team members during employee absences to ensure appropriate and timely management of specific territory responsibilities.
• Participate as a trainer and mentor for new employees and for all sales team members when needed.
• Participate in customer visits and project kick-off meetings.
• Resolve all products and pricing issues prior to receiving project purchase orders.
• Communicate effectively with customer personnel and field sales reps.
• Obtain and verify quotations and communicate changes to related departments.
• Assess customer needs and fulfill project requirements considering Viracon’s production capabilities.
• Know Viracon’s pricing policies and assign pricing to projects.
• Maintain knowledge of competitive products and market activity.
• Read and respond to architectural specifications via a specification exception letter.
• Participate in quote follow-up and forecasted work.
• Target and negotiate sales with field reps.
• Maintain project files and bidding histories.
• Support special projects outside typical duties.
• Utilize tools like Viper, MS Office, Freight Calculator, Intranet, and other databases.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve grievances.
• Know Viracon ISO documentation and initiate changes when needed.
• Perform duties per Business Process Documentation.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned by Sales Management.
