Job summary

MPI is seeking an Estimator to join our Philadelphia-area team on commercial, multifamily, healthcare, and institutional projects. You will lead quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and budgets while coordinating with project management, operations, and leadership during preconstruction.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of estimating experience in general contracting, strong knowledge of plans and specs, and proficiency with major estimating tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Experience estimating commercial, multifamily, healthcare, institutional, or mixed-use construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and local market conditions.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in a General Contractor environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope requirements and potential risks.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed project budgets.
• Collaborate with project management, operations, and leadership teams during preconstruction.
• Participate in bid review meetings and client presentations as needed.
• Analyze historical cost data and market pricing trends.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
• Assist in preparing bid packages, scopes of work, and proposal submissions.
• Maintain estimating databases and documentation for future projects.
